Alesya Nalbandyan     

Professional History

Alesya Nalbandyan joined Ellis Law Group in August of 2016 upon passing the February 2016 Bar exam.

While attending law school, Ms. Nalbandyan worked in the Veteran’s Legal Assistance Clinic where she managed the legal needs of five veterans. For four months, she mediated in small claims court in Vista, California, acting as a mediator to a variety of legal issues, including disputes between neighbors, business and personal disputes, medical and legal malpractice and tort and contract causes of action.

From August 2014 through April 2015, Ms. Nalbandyan served as a clinical intern at Warren & Burstein, a San Diego based law firm, focusing on criminal defense, civil litigation, and appellate representation. 

Ms. Nalbandyan served as a judicial extern and a post-bar for the Honorable Larry A. Burns, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of California. In this capacity, she conducted in-depth legal research, prepared legal memoranda recommending the outcomes of pending motions and case dispositions and drafted actual opinions. She worked on cases involving contract law, federal civil rights litigation, and various forms of civil litigation actions arising under other federal statutes.

Education

Ms. Nalbandyan received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Development and minor in Psychology in 2010 from the University of California at Davis. She earned her law degree with academic honors in 2015 from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California.

Volunteer Experience

July of 2014, Ms. Nalbandyan served as a legal representative at Stand Down Homeless Court in San Diego, California. For the 2015 tax season, she was a certified tax preparer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Programs. In November 2015, she participated in USD’s Moot Court Competition as a judge.

Personal

Ms. Nalbandyan enjoys boxing, dune buggies, and shooting at the gun range. She ran a full marathon in 2013 and loves Game of Thrones.
