Amanda N. Griffith
Practice Focus

Amanda Griffith is an associate attorney whose practice focuses on commercial law, insurance coverage litigation and securities.

Professional History

Ms. Griffith joined Ellis Law Group in 2012 upon passing the California state bar.

In 2016, she and colleagues Andrew Steinheimer and Mark Ellis won a summary judgment in U.S. District Court as defense counsel in Goodson v. Designed Receivable Solutions Inc., a class action arising from alleged violations of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), California’s Rosenthal FDCPA, and the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

Also in 2016, Ms. Griffith and Andrew Steinheimer won a summary judgment in Reddin v. Rash Curtis & Associates defending a collection agency in U.S. District Court accused of violating the FDCPA and Rosenthal FDCPA.

In 2015, Ms. Griffith and Mark Ellis successfully represented Wells Fargo Bank in a trial arising from a breach of guaranty contract. Their client was awarded the full debt of $101,654, plus interest, attorneys' fees and costs. In 2014, Ms. Griffith and Mark Ellis settled a hard-fought certified class action arising from a dispute between the landlord and tenants of the Shops of Heavenly Valley in South Lake Tahoe. The settlement concluded litigation that spanned seven years.

Prior to joining the Ellis Law Group, Ms. Griffith worked at various civil litigation firms in San Diego County while attending law school. Most notably, she served as a clinical intern from January to May 2012, at Chachas Law Firm, P.C., a San Diego transactional firm specializing in securities regulation, including SEC compliance and corporate governance, for public and private companies.

In 2011, Ms. Griffith served as a judicial intern for Judge Richard E.L. Strauss, San Diego Superior Court, Central Division. In this capacity, she worked closely with Judge Strauss and his staff attorney preparing the tentative ruling and conducting research for his Honor’s Motion calendar.


Ms. Griffith received her Bachelor’s of Arts Degrees in Government and Business Management in 2009 from University of Redlands in Redlands, California.

She earned her law degree cum laude in 2012 from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. During her tenure at California Western she received the American Jurisprudence Awards in Constitutional Law and Securities Regulation.
