David E. Castro   
Practice Focus

Mr. Castro is an associate attorney at Ellis Law Group, LLP. His practice areas include business litigation, commercial law, insurance litigation, professional liability, employment law, and the defense of consumer lawsuits and class actions arising under FDCPA, TCPA and Rosenthal FDCPA. He also represents plaintiffs in personal injury cases. Joining Ellis Law Group, LLP in 2017, Mr. Castro second chaired a TCPA-FDCPA jury trial his fourth week. The trial concluded with a unanimous verdict in favor of the firm's client.

.Professional History

Before joining Ellis Law Group, LLP, Mr. Castro practiced at the Sacramento-based law firm of Stawicki & Maples, where he gained considerable litigation experience in the areas of personal injury and products liability.

Prior to working as an associate attorney at Stawicki & Maples, he handled various assignments as a law clerk at Bowman & Associates.

Mr. Castro gained valuable legal experience working in the Family Law Clinic of the Florida Coastal School of Law, where he litigated cases in the areas of paternity, time-sharing and dissolution of marriage.

Mr. Castro also interned with the Office of the Public Defender for the 4th Judicial Circuit of Florida.

Education

Mr. Castro received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL.

Mr. Castro received his law degree in 2012 from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, FL. While at Florida Coastal, he earned a Certificate in Research, Writing and Drafting, and participated in Trial Advocacy.

    Mr. Castro enjoys volunteering in any activity that benefits children. He served as Guardian Ad Litem for the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program in Jacksonville, FL. During his spare time, he coaches the basketball and softball teams of his niece and nephew.
